Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which it may reach another party. By using Gentry County Criminal History, you agree to the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Gentry County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to review it and respond. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may receive standard technical details about the visit:

  • Page-view timestamps
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Browser name and version
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • Device category and operating system
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into site-use reports. A browser can be set to reject cookies, though blocking them may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and correcting technical faults
  • Measuring which pages readers use
  • Operating the site and improving load times
  • Routing a search query to the selected partner
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Gentry County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to official custodians, including the Gentry County sheriff, the Fourth Judicial Circuit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies supply the search boxes. A query entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider decides how it retains or shares data. Review those terms before sending a query because Gentry County Criminal History does not control them.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Missouri agencies, legal-help resources, or outside search tools. Once a reader follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Check that policy before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking is controlled by those companies.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
  • Advertising networks serving ads on the pages

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard security measures are used for information under the site's control. No internet service can promise complete security, so a breach can never be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If data from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary by residence. Missouri's Sunshine Law, RSMo §610.023, addresses requests to public governmental bodies, while RSMo §43.527 controls access to state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. For information held directly by the site, a visitor can:

  • Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
  • Request deletion of personal data held by the site
  • Ask to correct inaccurate information
  • Request a copy of personal information held about them

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices change. A new version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
